Cheick Oumar Sissoko, born in 19945, is a film maker and Mali’s political rappresentative. Student in Paris, he achivied a DEA in Paris, in the story and african sociology and a graduation at school ”École des hautes études en sciences sociales”, in story and cinema. He attended cinema’s courses at school “École nationale Louis Lumière”. Bock to Mali, he was engaged by institution “Centre national de la production cinématographique” (CNPC). He realized many films (among them Guimba, La Genèse, Battù) that received prizes at Locarno’s Festival (in 1995), at African Film Festival (Milan, in 1999 and in 2000) and Fespaco (“Festival panafricain du cinéma et de la télévision” of Ouagadougou, in 1996 and in 2001). He created the collective production ”Kora film”. President of the party Solidarité Africaine pour la Démocratie et l'Indépendance (SADI), Cheick Oumar Sissoko was nominated Culture’s minister in 2002. He was confirmed as Culture’s minister in 2004 and resigned in 2007.
