"It is particularly fitting that this march for a world without weapons can begin in this country. New Zealand has a strong heritage of thinking, working and negotiating for peace and this is timely when the nuclear-free legislation is being challenged. My thoughts and support will be with hosts of marchers as they pass through cities, towns and rural areas in many countries on our small planet Earth. May their voices be heard in places of power and give hope to all who live with fear in every place".
