Alka Lamba is one of several Secretaries of the All India Congress Committee. Miss Lamba is also currently the Chairperson of the Go India Foundation for Youth and Women. In 1995 she won the 1995-1996 Shareshth Shree Award in Student Leadership and in 2008 won the 2008-2009 Indira Gandhi Pratishth Award in the field of working for the cause of Women. Miss Lamba also held the post of All India President of the National Students Union of India from 1997 to 1999.
