Dr. Edgar Mitchell is a scientist, naval officer, astronaut, and author. He is best known for his life-changing experience seeing the planet Earth from space on his Apollo XIV mission in 1971. He was the sixth man to walk on the moon. Dr. Mitchell is the founder of the Institute of Noetic Sciences, which sponsors research on the nature of consciousness.
