March for Peace and Nonviolence in Bissau

The March took place on October 10, 2009 with hundreds of people arriving from the different neighborhoods of Bissau. Their objective; to spread the word from Guinea Bissau about the aims of this historical project.

Beginning in the rotunda of the airport and ending at the Plaza of National Heroes, the March presented a discourse about the aim to spread consciousness world wide in favor of peace and nonviolence.

Along with the many Guineans, the activities of the March in Bissau included people from Europe and Senegal.

The march had a high tone with very good vibrations thanks to the contributions of participants performances including traditional dances and the humanist theater group “Cabaz Garandi”

In the evening, a “Culture Night” was held in the Cultural Circle “Manca Flema”. The singers Fernando Fafe and Djunis de Manganancia performed, along with performances of many cultural dances.
