1600 people in Torino in a classical concert for Peace and Nonviolence

The videos of the world march were playing in a huge screen while the people were gathering. Then at 20.30 the President of the council of the community of Torino Mr. Giuseppe Castronovo and the Vice-President of the regional council of Piemonte Mr.Roberto Placido warmly welcomed the marchers. When the marchers appeared into stage a very long and intense applause full of emotion and strength gave electricity into the air. It was more than obvious that the marchers have been captured by this amazing support and sent their sincere and warm greeting.

The concert of the 100 musicians under the orientation of the Maestro Silvio Gasparella gave a fantastic performance starting with the 9th Symphony of Beethoven which was so amazingly bounded with the atmosphere created before. During the concert an electronically banner was extended to the whole range of the stage, reminding people the reason they have been gathered yesterday. It was definitely one of the strongest moments so far that the World March has encountered.

Earlier yesterday at 11.00 the same delegation of the World March has started its trip for Torino by realizing an important stop to Novara. There, a peace tent was settled by local organizations. There were around 50 people gathered and welcomed the marchers which later replied in the enthusiastic questions of the local media. The marchers have provided people and press a synthesis of the World March progress so far and they have joined the declaration of denouncing the intention of the Italian government to buy 131 F-35 Joint Strike Fighters which can carry nuclear weapons, cost some tens of billions of euros and are of a completely offensive nature.

Later the marchers visited in Torino the penal institute and realized a meeting with prisoners and staff. The delegation stressed the necessity to move along towards a universal human nation where the people are free and are denouncing violence. They have also claimed that such institution would someday become part of the prehistory of the human kind. The visit ended in a symbolic march inside the walls of the institution with the participants of both prisoners and stuff. Later in the afternoon the delegation continued with the same topic by visiting the reformatory for under aged prisoners and staff of another penal institute in town where they held meetings in both male and female sections. The meetings were quite interactive between the marchers and the kids (ages 14-18) where the main topic was the importance of the new generation to the change of the world by looking in the future no matter how difficult the conditions were in their life so far.

Finally, before the start of the concert, a presentation of the World March was made by the marchers and the humanists of Torino in the hall Caminetto that lasted more than an hour and the media interest was very high. There were 90 seats available but the participants were more than 200 with tens of children included. Today, the same delegation of the World March base and Balkan team will arrive in Naples.
