The promoters of the initiative, part of the association "Friends of the rail buggy", will set out in December from the most southerly point of the national rail network, a place called Esquel. From here they will journey through numerous locations until arriving in San Luis Province, where they will leave their vehicles to join up with the National Train for Peace and Nonviolence that is coming from Buenos Aires and will continue on to Punta de Vacas.
In their endorsement they said:
"We have a rare privilege of travelling by rail, carrying the message 'supporting the railways and defending the peoples in the interior of our beloved Argentina'. Today, the call invites us to march for 'Peace and Nonviolence' at a global level.
With this event, we want to make our modest contribution to the whole of humanity, to help to publicise the need to change this reality that surrounds us and that threatens the integrity of our planet."
The "Friends of the rail buggy" have been doing journeys to various places in the country to promote the recovery of the deactivated branches of the rail network and to defend rail activity in general. |
