On the 5th of July a meeting was held at the offices of Shanti Malika, a women's network for women's rights and peace.
Coming together were a federation of 18 different organisations under the title of "Jagaran Nepal", among them were: "Mahila Surikchya Dabab Samuha", "Gramin Swastha sikchy sewa guthi", "A.B.C. Nepal", "Ihricon", "Dakxin Asia adabasi mahila manch", "Nagaric Awaz", "Mahila Kanun Bikash manch", "Sathi", "CIWIN Nepal","CAC Nepal","Mahila Margadarsan", "Sap Nepal", "Didi Bahini", "Samanata","Insec", "Sancharica Samuha", and "Dalit Mahila Sangh".
World March promoter, Tulsi Sigdel said, "At the meeting we discussed the WM and the role of "Shanti Malika" in relation to the WM. All participants were very happy to welcome the WM and the team. As soon as possible we agreed to start a special WM launch programme. A parliament cabinet member asked us to submit a proposal for funding."
In addition a letters for Peace and Nonviolence competition has been started with schools in Kathmandu and Panauti. |
