Organisers of the World march from now on can count on the support of the Emperor of the Mossi, Mogho Naaba Baongo. During the ceremony the Emperor said that he was very satisfied to accompany this organisation. Referring to himself as "a convinced peace militant", he could do nothing but "join the initiative". For him, "peace is the contribution of every individual, and it's also a daily work that must be promoted in all actions taken individually or collectively."
The National Coordinator of the WM in Burkina Faso, Moubaïla Compaoré sees in this endorsement, a noble act and a great support. The Minister for Promotion of Human Rights, Salamata Sawadogo, has greeted the gesture by the Mogho Naaba in receiving the WM promotion team. The Mogho Naaba Baongo who always advocates for peace and nonviolence read out a poem for peace during the ceremony. It was a poem that he wrote himself when in 2007 he received the Civipax Prize from the Citizens of the World Association.
The Mossi are a people in central Burkina Faso, living mostly in the villages of the Volta River Basin. They constitute the largest ethnic group in Burkina Faso, with 40% of the population, or about 6.2 million people. |
