The "Wall for Peace" is a Chilean project that consists of painting 1,000m of graffiti over one weekend, with the participation of between 300 and 500 young artists, with themes to do with peace, nuclear disarmament and nonviolence.
The aim of this initiative is to contribute to "creating consciousness" of the World March, through artistic expression by young people from the world of Hip-Hop, to set a Guinness record for this activity, and to get media attention.
With the sponsorship of the local council, the action will take place on the 13th, 14th and 15th of November 2009 in the district of Peñalolén in Santiago. Organisers are appealing for graffiti artists around the world to get involved. Interest has already been expressed in Germany, France, Peru, Brazil and Argentina.
