Netherlands Amsterdam | August 06, 2009 21:26
On the 6th of August a commemoration event took place in the central square of Amsterdam, organised by the Comunity for Human Development, endorser and promotor of the World March for Peace and Nonviolence in the Netherlands
The event took place from 4.30pm until 8 pm. There was a stand of the World March and a photography exhibition of Hiroshima and Nagasaki after the bombs. People in white overalls with the text "Never again Hiroshima and Nagasaki" invited the public to join a die-in at 7pm. At that hour the central event started with speakers of the Community, the World March and several other organisations, during which the core of the Die-inners lay all the while on the ground. The event was closed with the passing of the Peace Flame and a small but very touching ceremony.
