Costa Rica to establish a Ministry of Peace and Justice

This is a wonderful achievement for the Rasur Foundation, the Costa Rican coordinator of the Campaign for a Ministry for Peace - and for legislator Alexander Mora Mora, sponsor of the bill.

The adoption of the bill provides an inspiring lead-up to the World Summit for Ministries and Departments for Peace which will be held in Costa Rica hosted by the Rasur Foundation. The New Zealand campaign for a Ministry for Peace will be represented at the Summit by World March organiser Mayra Gomez.

The Law, already approved by the Congress, must be submitted for approval by the President of Costa Rica, Oscar Arias Sánchez, Winner of the 1987 Nobel Peace Prize.

Alexander Mora Mora will be coming to Wellington for the start of the World March.
