Celebrated opponent of apartheid, vocal defender of human rights, leader in the fight against AIDS, poverty and racism. Chairman of South Africa’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission, member of the Comité de Honor of the International Coordinating Committee of the Decade for a Culture of Nonviolence, Chairman of the Elders and member of the Council of the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation.
