World without Wars’ presents the World March in the Social Fair of Norrköping

The motto of the Social Fair “Another world is possible” of increasing social importance after years of preparation, appeared to express itself in similar ways to the propositions made by the World March, especially the first and most urgent matter: Worldwide nuclear disarmament.

On the 25th the Social Fair opened with acts from several organisations. ‘World without Wars’ developed a program informing about past activities, distributing general information about the World March and asking for commitment and support from other participants.

During the fair, children could take part in ‘Workshops of Peace and Non Violence’ and the festival was livened up by performances of a wide variety in different styles: dance, music, poetry, chant... Very beautiful, bright sunny days were brought to happy endings with shared meals.

On the 9th of May the Social Fair concluded with a big party in which all the participating organisations celebrated, reinforcing the will to keep on working for something we all aspire: a world free of violence and wars.

It was a multicultural happening, own to Sweden as a country with a large history of solidarity admitting people from all continents, economic and political exiles, refugees from war and hunger, etc.

The members of ‘World without Wars’ from Norrköping are grateful for the support from their Stockholm friends and colleagues who came over and helped out for 2 days.
